As the first luxury Ritz-Carlton hotel in Central China, the property takes Chu culture as its core design soul with a full suite of custom artworks independently designed and fabricated. Hundreds of original art pieces run through lobbies, restaurants and guest rooms, integrating time-honored Hubei traditional crafts with contemporary minimalist aesthetics.
Crafted installations including bronze sculptures, lacquer decorations, Chu embroidery ornaments and East Lake-themed paintings are tailor-made exclusively for the hotel. Artisans hand-finish every piece to interpret the charm of the Yangtze River and ancient Chu rituals. Custom sculptural lighting and porcelain feature delicate textures, echoing Wuhan’s river city temperament. The systematic artwork program delivers an immersive cultural aesthetic, setting this high-rise hotel apart as an iconic art-filled urban retreat in Wuhan.

Inheriting the ancient layered lacquer techniques and mineral color fixation of Chu-style lacquer art, we layer lacquer, pearl powder and silver foil to forge the unique Wuhan blue, imbued with the city’s misty aquatic charm. Hammered fish patterns dance across copper plates, as ripples shimmer with flowing light.

The soft, gentle texture of paper pulp contrasts with Nickel Silver metallic luster, forging a dual poetic vitality as water ripples freeze in serene radiance and unfold gentle grace.

This translucent partition draws inspiration from the ancient Chu Lacquered Wood Square Jian. Ancient multi-alum sizing & dyeing craft embodies oriental ritual aesthetics. Reconstructed with crystal and metal, it blends modern vitality with oriental grace and order.

We integrate the warp and weft textures of Han embroidery into copper wire weaving. Depicting the convergence of Tangxun Lake, East Lake and Jinyin Lake, the artwork unfolds the water-bound veins and local spirit of Wuhan — grand yet serene.

Crafted via traditional layered silver gilding, antique porcelain fragments bear new maritime stories, recreating the timeless tea-port vista where light stretching far and myriad sails voyage from rivers to seas.
